Another Mana’e, East End Moloka’i, Hawaii Sunset
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west…this, we already know. Although viewing the sunset on the west would make the event last a bit longer, the view from the East End of the Friendly Isle is just as breath-taking.
Life can be very stressful with the hustle and bustle of the mundane, and the endless effort it takes to try to make ends meet [financially]. The above picture is the perfect remedy to alleviate all the pressure and stress. There really is nothing like spending a mellow day at the beach, and enjoying the priceless sight of a Hawaii Sunset.

Kepuhi Beach, Kaluakoi West Moloka’i, Hawaii Sunset
Purple, pink, and hints of orange in the sky…this is what the view looks like at the end of the day over on the West End of Moloka’i.
Imagine sitting on a beach mat with your feet in the sand after a surf session when there’s a west swell of 2-3 feet(Hawaiian style measurements) with light tradewinds of 5-10 mph. Having a few good friends at your side, your drink of choice in one hand, and the view similar to the one in the photograph above…
Does it get any better than that?
I recently took a trip to part of the inland Mainland. The city stretched out in a distance as far as the naked eye can see. If you’ve ever experienced the feeling of homesickness, I can empathize with you. Being separated from the ocean for a lengthy period of time can really enhance one’s appreciation for it.

Papohaku Beach, Kaluakoi West Moloka’i, Hawaii Sunset
The infamous Papohaku Beach stretches out for a vast length of three miles, making it one of the longest white sand beaches in Hawaii. This photograph was taken at the beginning of the Papohaku Beach stretch.
The ocean is powerful and should never be underestimated. Papohaku is not an exception to that rule. Known for it’s strong current and undertow, visitors should always exercise cautiousness as to entering the waters there.
Stay tuned for more pictures of Hawaii sunsets and scenic views in future posts.
