Feb 12th, 2008
Well, it’s no big secret that I’m a bit of a beach bum. I had some time over the weekend to go to the beach and get some shots of pictures of surfers in their natural habitat.
The surf was booming on the north and west shores over the weekend. These beach pictures were taken on Sunday (February 10, 2008). The northwest swell brought in 3-5 feet (Hawaiian measurements) sets with an occasional 5-6 footers over at Kepuhi beach. It started to calm down at the end of the day only to bring in another larger swell today (Monday February 11) .

Hawaii Surf Forecast | Report for This Week (February 11-17 2008)
On the North shores of Oahu, Hawaii we’re looking at continual high surf this whole week. It’s going to be an average of 8′-12′ coming from Northwest swell from today on up to Wednesday. Thursday will be bigger with 10′15′ sets. From then on, the north shore surf is expected to go down (but it’ll still be big).
On the West Shores of Oahu, Hawaii there’s going to be some northwest and west northwest swells. Swells of 6′-10′ are expected to roll in tomorrow. This will probably remain constant up until Friday. From Friday on down to Sunday, the swells are expected to come down to around 3′-5′.
Don’t expect anything really on the South & East Shores of Oahu, Hawaii. There will be some small southwest and east northeast swells, but don’t expect anything over 2 feet.
Oahu Surf Report Telephone Number
Wanna be sure of the Hawaii surf report before you head out to the beach? (808)596-SURF is the number I call before putting the surfboards on my car rack. They give you up-to-date actual surf of the day. We’ll be putting up a surf forecast section on the home page of this site, so keep on the look for that.

Beautiful shots. I miss seeing the real ocean swells compared to the close-spaced 1′ wind waves here on the Florida west coast beach breaks.
Hi Mike! I’m glad you liked the pictures. I love the winter north and west shore swells.
