Halawa Valley | East End Moloka’i

A great picture of Lush & Beautiful Halawa Valley, Moloka’i: One of the places where the mountains meet the sea.

This shot was taken from the lookout point on the side of the single windy road leading you down to the valley and beach. A little before the Halawa Bay (seen above in the picture) is where the Kamehameha Highway ends abruptly.

The One Major Moloka’i Town | Kaunakakai

Yes, Kaunakakai is Moloka’i’s one and only major town. Need to do some grocery shopping? Kaunakakai Town has 2 grocery stores. Need medication? Moloka’i has one pharmacy (Moloka’i Drugs, Inc.) located in Kaunakakai. Get your shopping done early, and make sure you have everything you need…Friendly Market Center and Misaki’s Grocery Store closes around 8:30pm on the weekdays, 6:30pm on Saturdays. Friendly Market Center completely closes altogether on Sundays, and Misaki’s Grocery Store is open until 12 in the afternoon.

Sunset at Mana’e, East End Moloka’i

Taken at a beach on the East End of Moloka’i, this spot is about a half hour’s drive before Halawa Valley. The East End of Moloka’i, as opposed to the West End, is greener and more mountainous. In my opinion, it is a more visually appealing drive and well worth the time if you love sightseeing and photo taking.

Stay tuned and check back regularly for more beautiful pictures of Hawaii.
