Chilly weather in Hawaii has been the talk of the town today. Here in Hawaii, anything below 65 degrees Fahrenheit is considered cold. Personally, 70 degrees Fahrenheit and under is too cold. So what’s the news on Hawaii weather?

On Maui: Haleakala Summit is Closed due to Icy Weather
Ever watched the sunrise at the summit of Maui’s infamous mount Haleakala? If you haven’t, the above picture is a glimpse of the majestic view…as beautiful as it is, the picture does not do the sight enough justice. Add ‘watching the sun rise on Haleakala‘ to your list of things to do in Hawaii.
However, don’t plan on a trip to the summit in the very near future. The summit has been closed due to hazardous icy and snowy conditions since yesterday, and will remain closed until further notice.

On the Big Island: Kona Experiences Hail
Yes, you heard right…hail on the Big Island. Kona experienced hail the size of marbles (from what we can estimate from pictures) yesterday (June 29, 2008).
