Aloha is a Hawaiian word that is often heard in reference and relation to Hawaii. But how would you define this term?
I believe that perhaps it is the most widely known word in the Hawaiian language. However, this term is very difficult to define with just words. Aloha is not just a mere greeting or salutation. The spirit of Aloha is the application of love in all of its many facets.
One of these many facets of the spirit of aloha is the proper love and pride for a certain place and for what it means to you. This brings me to my subject at hand…
Carnival of Aloha
The carnival of Aloha is a blog carnival coordinated by Evelyn of Homespun Honolulu. This carnival features articles written by Hawaii bloggers or those that have visited the islands and like to share their thoughts and reflections about Hawaii. These articles were written with the spirit of aloha in mind. They offer fresh perspectives on modern Hawaii and our diverse culture, which is what we also strive to share here at Local Kine: True Pictures of Hawaii.
You can view the most recently published edition entitled Everything from Insects to Politics, and if you have a blog post you wish to submit you may do so using the link to the submission form on the Carnival of Aloha Guidelines page.

Thank you for this post! I swear I know that picture! May I guess? It looks like a little should have been taro patch just off to the side of the park behind Queen Emma’s Summer Palace. Am I right? I was just shaken when I saw it. If it is, do you know anything about it? It has fascinated me since the first time I saw it. I’m just weird.
